About Me

My photo
Hello to family and friends! I have decided to start blogging so that everyone can see what is going on here in NC. As you all know, I am married to a wonderful man Josh and we have three beautiful children Tyler, Alexis, and Jacen. I am a very proud wife and mother to my family and I wouldnt change it for anything in the world. We currently live 1,000 miles away from our family and friends that were in our lives each and everyday and plan on being here for another 4 years but soon enough we will be reunited with them and that will be an amazing day! We miss everyone so much. But until then, keep up with our blog to find out what goes on in our world down here :)

Its been a while...

Yes it has! There has been a ton of things since the last time I wrote. Tyler turned 3 in September and is now 3 1/2 and is smarter than his own good and so tall! :) October was the time for Halloween and when Maw Maw Joann, PaPa Tony, and Great Gma Moore came to visit and it was such a blast! The day they planned on leaving is the day that our newest member Jacen was born. We say that his lucky number is 8 for this reason. I went to the hospital and was 8 cm dialated, between the time being at the hospital and having him it was 88 min, he was 8lbs 8oz and born on Nov 8th. So yes, 8 shall be his number :) Right after that, Maw Maw Charlotte and Aunt Tonya came down and visited for a week and like always, it was a good time. Then it was Thanksgiving and birthdays and Christmas. A busy time for everyone. We had Papa Bob and Great Gma Burleyson down for Christmas and New Years and we learned some new card games and it was a nice visit but by the begining of the new year, this Mommy wanted her house back. We enjoyed everyone visiting but it was time to get back into our routine of things. But we are still working on that. Three kids and routines are hard but I will get it down! :)

So in the midst of everything going on we were also at the stage where Josh's 4 yr contract was ending soon so we had to make a decision. Should we stay in or get out. We decided together that staying in would be the best for our family but he wanted to switch to a different MOS, meaning a different job. Intelligence is what he decided on but when they told him that they were dropping 20,000 Marines and there were only 26 slots to get into for this position and 60 people were applying, we are thinking that we might be done with the Marine Corps and have to start civilian life. And right now in this economy, its not a great time to be starting over with 3 children and parents who have no school behind them except high school diplomas. We were scared, stressed, nervous. You name it, we were it. But as it turned out, he got accepted and we are so thankful. :) It was such a relief knowing that we were going to be able to provide for our family and have that security for the next 4 years and then get out of the Marine Corps and be able to provide a very stable life for our children. Thats what we have wanted all along. As for me, I will continue to stay home until Jacen starts kindergarten which really isnt very long. 4 years has already past by in a blink of an eye and it seems like just last week it was Tyler that was born. I would like to start cosmetology school sometime and also take some photography classes so I can get use to my camera and maybe do that as a hobby but we will see. Right now I am focusing on what I've been doing and that is being a mother and a wife. I couldnt ask for anything more or anything less. I truly have it all! Thank you to my husband who has worked so hard and letting me have my dream. A dream that I never knew I wanted until our first child was born. Everything else can go on the back burner :) I love you!
